We provide guidance and reassurance to parents of kids ages 3+ on common health issues kids routinely face. Remote doctors can diagnose, treat, and prescribe medication for almost as many issues as in-person pediatricians.* See more of what we treat in our medical policies.
*We do NOT currently treat ear infections and strep throat, two common conditions that currently require in-person consultation for diagnosis. Doctors will help assess severity and provide guidance on what to do next, but they cannot treat these issues remotely. K for Parents also does not treat COVID-19 within kids at this time.
In just a few taps, K for Parents connects you to accurate answers 24/7 and board-certified doctors (from 9am-9pm EST), so you can get peace of mind and care from your phone.

Our AI-powered symptom checker is always free and provides health answers on 70+ common conditions. Connecting with a doctor is always affordable. No insurance required.
We heard from you that getting your child to sit still during visits is quite an ordeal. For your convenience, our visits are mostly text-based, though when a doctor needs to see something in more depth you may be asked to join a quick video chat (for 10 to 30 seconds) or to submit photos or a short video.
K for Parents doctors provide guidance, reassurance, and clarity for parents facing common childhood health issues. For most conditions, doctors can diagnose and provide a treatment plan, including prescriptions, if needed. If the doctors cannot effectively diagnose virtually, they’ll provide a referral and treatment recommendation to follow until you see the referring provider.
The doctors’ working hours are currently 9am-7pm EST for K for Parents, though we are quickly expanding to be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you are seeking care after hours, we’ll get you set up and in the queue for a doctor to reach out once working hours resume.
Our free symptom checker is available at your service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
All our doctors are board-certified and have extensive experience treating children. Our doctors are trained how to integrate the excellent content from the K app into their conversations with patients and families. In addition, our doctors are part of a collaborative, rigorous process to identify and adopt the highest standards of clinical care.
Talking to a doctor with K Health is the same affordable price, with or without insurance.
K for Parents is for parents with kids ages 3-17. The parent must answer questions on behalf of the child. When a child turns 18, they should create an account with K Health to use independently.
The K Health app and chats with a doctor can only be administered by the legal guardian of the child. For example, a grandmother of a child would only be able to use K Health for the child if she is the legal guardian. Please note we do require legal documentation to prove an adult is the legal guardian. Additionally, we do not treat emancipated minors.
You must be near your child for all interactions with K for Parents in order to get accurate results and the right treatment. At the start of a doctor chat, we may require you to submit a photo of your child. At times, you may be asked to do things like observe if their nose is runny or stuffy, assess their general comfort level, take their temperature, pinch their skin, or describe a rash with prompting.
Talking to the K Health app about your child is available in all states, however connecting with a doctor is currently limited to California, Florida, New Jersey, New York, and Texas. Doctor conversations are available in all states within the continental US for those over the age of 18.
Patients are typically connected to a physician in under 60 minutes. While you wait, the doctor will be reviewing your answers to our symptom checker.
You can add all of your children to your K Health account and discuss their symptoms with the app at additional cost. During our early access period, you can also chat with doctors about your children for free. After our early access period, you’ll need to purchase a single-visit ($19) or Primary Care Membership ($9/month) to access a doctor. A Primary Care Membership will cover both you and all your children. Please note that you can only talk to a doctor about one child at a time.
Yes! The K Health app provides free health answers and affordable options to chat with a doctor for anyone over 18 years old, too. Single visits are $19. Unlimited visits for you and your children are just $9/month with a Primary Care membership, which also includes a care team, prescription management and much more!
Yes! As long as we have available licensed providers in the state you are currently in, we can connect you with care.
Since treatment & health guidance is dependent on age, gender, and previous medical history, each conversation with K Health and with our doctors should be about one child at a time. However, you can add all your children to the K Health app for no additional cost and have unlimited doctor visits for your children for free if you are a K Health member.

Yes! Your doctor will be able to write a doctor’s note for your child if needed to return or be dismissed from school, activities, camp, and more. Our doctors can also provide notes for parents who may require them to explain an absence from work or other obligations.
Yes, K Health affiliated doctors can order tests as needed. At this time we do not order imaging. Please note the cost of these tests is outside the cost of your visit. A K Health affiliated provider will be able to follow up with you about your lab results and answer any questions you may have.
K Health provides users an Rx savings card which can help make medication more affordable. If the cost of medication is still prohibitive, a patient can come back to K Health and ask their physician if there are OTC or generic alternatives they could prescribe instead.
Great. Please email us at kids@khealth.ai with any and all feedback.
K Health affiliated doctors can prescribe medication as necessary. They will typically send prescriptions to your local pharmacy within a few hours of your doctor chat.
The doctors can refill many child prescriptions for up to 90 days so you can get back to your primary doctor for follow up. Per our refill policy, you’ll need to demonstrate that your child has a recent prescription through a photo or pharmacy listing.
Keep in mind we don’t prescribe controlled substances such as certain ADHD medications, or chronic medications such as diabetes, autoimmune disorders, or seizure disorders at this time. Learn more about what we prescribe and our refill policy here.
Our app and doctors are trained to ask smart, intuitive questions that are proven to be effective in getting to the bottom of what’s going on with your child. You may be asked to do things like look into your child’s mouth, listen to their heartbeat, press on their stomach, or pinch their skin in order to help your virtual doctor diagnose the symptoms. Images and diagrams will be used to assist you as well! If you are speaking with a doctor and having trouble getting your child to cooperate with you or are unable to answer the questions, you may be asked to submit a short video to the doctor.
The free K Health app will provide answers and guidance around more than 70 of the most common pediatric conditions.
Our doctors can diagnose and treat most things you might see an in-person pediatrician for. Please note that ear infections and strep throat are two common conditions that do require an in-person consultation for diagnosis, however our doctors will help assess severity and provide guidance on what to do next. Additionally COVID-19 is particularly challenging to diagnose in children so our providers may not be able to diagnose it, but they will give suggestions on how to best manage symptoms and what to do next.
